Almond Honey Energy Bars

Try Almond Honey Power Bars.
Lots of texture, fast on- the- go morning snack and quite tasty!

Almond Honey Power Bars
1 cup old fashioned oats
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1 tbsp. flaxseed
1 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 cup whole grain puffed cereal
1/3 cup currants
1/3 cup dried apricots
1/3 cup golden raisins
1/4 cup creamy almond butter
1/4 cup unrefined turbinado sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
dash of sea salt

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Coat with canola cooking spray 8x8 baking pan.
  2. Spread oats, almonds, all seeds on baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes, giving it a stir from time to time. Transfer to bowl and add cereal, currants, apricots and raisins. Toss.
  3. Combine almond butter, sugar, honey and vanilla with sea salt in small saucepan.
  4. Heat stirring frequently for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour almond butter mixture over dry ingredients and mix until no spots remain.
  6. Pour onto pan and coating hands with spray, press down until firm. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and cut into 8 bars.
